STAR-Cast: New casting simulation software from Access and CD-adapco

Access and CD-adapco announce joint development of the new casting simulation software STAR-Cast, based on a comprehensive and fully coupled computational continuum mechanics approach. STAR-Cast provides a multiphase mould filling module – liquid, solid and gaseous - with the full range of computational fluid dynamics features of CD-adapco's flagship CFD codes, STAR-CD and STAR-CCM+: including conjugate heat transfer, a sharp resolution of the filling front, free-surface fragmentation, motion of trapped gas bubbles in melt, natural convection in melt and gas.
